Is it really only Little League???

Yesterday we got up at 5:00am in order to be ready and in North Ogden by 7:30am. I keep thinking - is this really worth it as I'm fighting tired boys trying to get them out of bed and awake enough to get ready. The field in North Ogden is right up against a mountain. The leaves were starting to turn, and the sun was just rising. It was such a pretty morning to sit and relax and enjoy the company of the other parents. It was a bit brisk but Kody and I wrapped up in a blanket and all was well.

As the game got closer to beginning more people started to file in. After a few games, you start to notice the same people over and over again. This older gentleman and his wife walked in and my first thought was "He must be someones grandpa, I haven't seen him before." He walked down to the other end. Nothing out of the ordinary. Shortly after the game started, I saw him walk back towards us talking on his cell phone. Again, not out of the ordinary. Then Mick called Isaac's name and this man yelled - " Issac, Issac, Issac Newton" I thought he must be Issac's grandpa and that was a nick name he had for Issac. Again, not out of the ordinary. Right after this, I headed to the car to get the umbrella, as the sun was peaking it's head over the mountain right into our eyes. As I walked past this man, again on his cell phone. I heard him say "Number 28 is going to carry the ball". He paused for the play and then after the play he said, "That was the right call to make." I told Todd that he was a spy and was calling our plays into the other team. Todd thought I was crazy and laughed at me. I then finished my trip to the car and the restroom. When I returned, all the parents were in a uproar about this man. While I was gone, someone had confronted him and told the coaches about the incident. This man left our side of the field and went and sat in the middle of North Ogden's parents. All of this happened while North Ogden had scored 14 points.

The boys heard what was going on and the parents were mad so it made for a VERY long game. I don't even remember the score, but I know that we really struggled and we lost. I feel bad for our boys because they have some good talent but the coaches choose to call some "super hero" calls on 4 down and yards to go and they never seem to work!! Why don't they keep going with the plays that seem to work for us? Todd gets so frustrated. Is it really only Little League???
