Yesterday I went to the Scout Office to buy a Bear book for Kody. I was on my way to a clients so I ran in and ran out, all in about 3 minutes. Kody had been to his den meeting the day before and they gave him a list of 3 requirements that need to be completed before Pack Meeting the end of this month. As I was driving I wondered what those requirements where. When I parked at my clients, I started to look through the book trying to find these requirements. Nothing in the book made since to me. I finally realized that book was in SPANISH!! I was very frustrated that in Cache Valley we now have to make sure we get the English version of what ever it is we are buying -- frustrated because that meant another trip to the Scout Office. My frustration passesd and I returned to the Scout Office. The same lady that had waited on me earlier was at the register. I told her "We have a hard enough time accomplishing Cub Scouts requirements in English, we will never make it in Spanish." She was very apologetic and said that this has happened more than once and usually the clerks try to check when the customer pays but she had forgotten. No harm done -- but I will be checking from now on to make sure I have the English version!
