1. Prepare for Activity Days on Wednesday. We are frosting Valentine sugar cookies and delivering to some people in our ward. The girls idea and my idea of decorating things are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum so I'm a little nervous to do this activity but I was probably the same way at 8 - 11 years old, and I guess the service that is more important than the end product. -- I'll try to remind myself of that on Wednesday!
2. Take Kody to the ortho for a follow-up visit. Last fall we had him looked at to decide if we needed to try to widen his jaw. He has been blessed (or cursed) with the Jackson small mouth. I had several teeth pulled before I got my braces and I'm afraid Kody is headed down that same path.
3. Meet with the ARS people to have my dryer vent cleaned. Unfortunately, my dryer vent isn't a straight shot outside and this causes a large amount of dust in the back half of our house. I can dust one day and the next day I can write my name in the dust again. I'm hoping by having them come clean the vent out this problem will be solved -- at least for a little while.
4. Help Kody with Valentine's for his class.
5. Attend Relief Society Craft Group and make a cute Valentine Pillow. We'll see how good my embroidery skills are, it's been a long time since I've used them.
6. Watch at least 5 basketball games on Saturday. Kody is playing in a tournament on Saturday in Ogden and Tyler has a double hitter in his weekly Mtn Crest league. I'm also hoping that the Aggie game against Boise State will be on TV Saturday night.
7. Buy some Aggies socks for a friend of mine and mail to her before Valentine's Day so she can put them with her other valentine gifts.
8. Send a birthday card to a friend.
9. Write a Thank You card and mail.
10. LAUNDRY, LAUNDRY, LAUNDRY AND MORE LAUNDRY. My laundry seems to grow by feet each day. I hear people say their laundry day is Tuesday (or whatever day) and I think what is wrong with me. I do at least 3 loads a day and I still never see the bottom of the laundry basket. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have some suggestions for me?
11. Decide what I am doing for my family for Valentine's Day. Any ideas?
12. Return a very overdue book back to the Smithfield library. Just a word of advice for you -- when the library calls and says that there is an overdue book from your house and you don't recognize the name -- check your young adult's locker at school! I had told the library on several occasions that we didn't have that book and I don't recall ever seeing it. Last week, Tyler wanted to go to the library and again the lady tells me about this book. I'm about ready to recite the "we haven't checked out that book" when Tyler says "Oh, yeah -- that book is in my locker at school." Well at least the mystery was solved.
13. Help Tyler work through a situation he is facing at school concerning another friend, who's mother has made some poor choices.
14. Return to Darrell's Appliance. The shelve extenders on my frig have been broken for some time now, so I haven't been able to use the shelves on the door. I finally decided to get them replaced so I went to Darrell's a week ago to order them. I was very shocked at the total cost but decided the extra space would probably be worth it. I pick up the extenders on Saturday only to get them home and open the box and find some electronic device that is not my shelf extenders. I'm hoping that the price I paid is for the electronic device and that my actual shelf extenders will be cheaper!
15. Call to get an estimate on finishing our downstairs bathroom.
Given this list, I better start now to accomplish my tasks. It's awesome being a mom and serving others but I can make myself tired by writing it all out. Sometimes it's better for me if I just keep the list on a daily basis.
Remember to do something for those you love this week!
I won't let it die!
