Guild Renuion in Wyoming

First off, I stole these pictures from my sister-in-law, Amy's blog. I took my camera but didn't take it out of the truck once! What a slacker I am!

This reunion is on my mom's dad side of the family - several generations back - still not totally sure how we are really related to these people. Most of my family has been going for a few years now but we have not be able to go because the reunion has been the same weekend as Tyler's first football each season. This year football started a week later so we decided to go and find out what's its all about.

This reunion is about 20 miles east and then 20 miles south (on a dirt road) of Evanston. Not much is out there except sage brush, cow pipes and the wind! The Guilds own 20,000 acres of land that goes and goes and goes. They live such a simple life. I was amazed how they really live. They do have electricity and running water, but the homes are simple and just the basics. They truly were happy and the nicest people. It was good for me to see that people really live on a lot less than I am blessed with.

A real cowboy!

We rode our four-wheelers in the mud because it rained really hard Saturday morning. Tyler and Kody shot clay pigeons with Eric. Todd and I enjoyed just being able to relax and enjoy the nieces and nephews in a different setting than usual.
