I'm still alive and kickin'...

Holy Cow - I can't believe it's been nearly three weeks since I posted. Needless to say, tax season took over my life and not much else got done. I love my job and am so grateful for it, but each year I think what an insane person I must be to keep coming back for more. I will say that compared to many people in our office (and you know who you are) I don't put in near the hours they do. I really don't know how they survive or have the energy to keep going. I try to pull my share of the weight but I have a family who isn't too willing to share their mom or wife so sometimes tax season is a real juggling act for me! Anyway - it's over for 2009! Well, that is if you don't count all the 100's of extension we did! As one of my coworkers said, "At least it's job security through the summer."

Tyler and Kody both finished up basketball a few weeks ago, so our schedule has become drastically lighter. Sometimes, I feel like I'm forgetting something or I'm not getting the boys where they are supposed to be. On the other hand, it has been a much needed break for all of us to be able to just be "sports free." Obviously, we love sports and the fun that comes with it but it can consume your life if you let it. Tyler is going to be playing basketball in the Utah Summer Games in June so he will start practicing once a week shortly. We are looking forward to the Summer Games. He was invited to play with some of his old teammates from last year. Without going into a lot of details, Tyler and his coach had some words at the end of the season last year, which caused some concern but Tyler still enjoyed the kids on that team and in order to avoid any more issues we decided to play on another team this year. So the fact that the coach invited Tyler was a great thing for Tyler and we are looking forward to playing with them.

Todd and I spend a few days in Salt Lake this past weekend. We both took Friday off and went to SLC, we went shopping, hung out together without kids, sleep in, ate, and had a really great time rekindling us before Todd starts farming. I joke with Todd all the time and tell him if we ever got divorced it would probably be in the months of October - December when we actually get to spend time together. I'm swamped from Jan - April and he starts farming April - Sept. Our jobs are actually ideal for each other because when one is busy the other can take care of family matters but it doesn't leave a lot of alone time for the two of us.

Now that I can think about the "To Do" list, I've got myself several projects that I want to complete over the next few weeks. Some inside and some outside but all need to be done. I certainly don't feel like this is the most entertaining post or that anyone really will care if they've read it or not but this is what we've been up too the last few weeks.

I am so happy taxes are over for you. I don't know how you do it. I are definitely an inspiration to me. Good for you guys to get away for a weekend. Sounds like a blast. I keep waiting for an opportunity to get away with Chris. I hope it happens before we are 80. Have a great week!
