Three weeks until school starts and this is the list for the rest of the summer-
1. Football starts Monday at 5:30pm. Tyler is VERY ready for football to start. I'm not a huge football fan but I've enjoyed watching Tyler play so I guess I'm kinda excited for it to start also. We haven't had any organized sports all summer long and it has been nice in some ways but in some ways I've really missed it. Football is a huge time commitment and once it starts, many other things stop due to lack of time. But ready or not, it's here! Go Bobcats!
2. The County Fair is next week. Tyler and Kody will be showing their sheep 3 days next week. They've been working hard all summer long and are ready for the fair. As we've looked at the schedule and talked about things, we will basically be at the fair 16 hours a day for 4 days. I told Todd I was not sitting in the sheep barn all day long. After some debate, I talked him into taking our camp trailer down to the fairgrounds so I can have a place to hang out. I've made myself a list of things I could pack and take with me and get done while the boys do their thing - whatever that is! I guess we'll see how things really go.
3. Family Reunion in Wyoming. This is on my mom's side and we have never been. Most of my family has gone the last two years but due to football, we haven't gone. The timing worked out this year and football games start a week later so we are packing up and heading to the wild frontier. I'm wondering how fun this will be - but if my brothers continue to go back each year, it must be a good time. So again - we'll see.
4. School Shopping. I've always been ahead of the game when it comes to shopping (surprise, surprise!). In fact, by this time most years, I've purchased a few Christmas gifts, not this year! I've bought a few things here and there but I need to take time and do an inventory of what's still needed. I remember wanting (and thinking I needed) many new clothes for school each year. Now as a parent, I've decided that is so overrated - but try and tell my 7th grader that!
5. Boating. I'm hoping to get on the lake once this summer with Shalise's family but it's looking slimmer and slimmer of a possibility but I'm not giving up hope just yet.
6. Downstairs Bathroom Finished. You may recall Todd tiled the bathroom while he was on furlough during February. Well slowly but surely we've grouted the tile, sealed the tile, and painted the walls. I'm waiting for the contractor to come and install the cabinets and then the plumber to install the toilet and hook up the faucets. I'm hoping to have this done before school starts but I seem to be at the bottom of some one's list and things aren't moving very fast - actually not at all. I hate to be a pest but maybe I need to call the contractor and see if I'm even on the list!
7. My 53 Item To Do List. I've worked really hard this summer to work my way down that list. Unfortunately, I've added to that list as the summer has gone on. Fortunately, I've been able to cross many things off the list. I still have 3 things I want to get done before this Saturday. I've used August 1 as my target date, just because like I said above, football starts and many other things stop. I haven't made it completely through the list but I've sure made a good dent in it and hopefully I can continue to make progress. It is a nice feeling to look at the list and see more items crossed off than not.
Now you know why I'm feeling like I'm on the edge! I need to take a deep breath (and get some sleep) and take one day -- or maybe even one hour -- at a time until school starts!

I PROMISE that the Wyoming reunion will be fun. We actually were bummed that we couldn't go last year, so we are looking forward to it! As for the boating, the offer still stands for this Saturday?! It sounds like you better take it with the schedule you have next week!
I love that I am not the only one staying awake at night. The camp trailor would have been an awesome I idea. I wish I would have thought of that. You are a super mom. Hope you have fun at your reunion.
Kara-
You amaze me. You seem to have everything under control and so put together. I think we get busier and busier as our kids grow up. Right now it seems busy for with my 3 little kids, but after reading your post I'm sure I have some sleepless night ahead of me. Hang in there.
