Thankful Thursday

It's a good thing I decided to start Thankful Thursday's because lately that's all I've been posting! It's 10:30pm but still Thursday -- here's my list this week--
1. Living close to and working with my parents. It's fun to eat lunch with them most days, its fun to talk to them throughout each day at work, about both work and other stuff.
2. I'm so glad I can start to see spots of green lawn and my tulips are poking through the ground. It makes me happy and excited to know that before too long I'll be able to get outside and get my hands dirty.
3. Brooklyn - I'm always amazed at her attitude and determination. She is so thoughtful of me and gives me the nicest notes that always make me happy. She truly is one of my hero's in life.
4. Being able to live life each day chuck full of activities - yes I'm thankful for this even when I'm dog tired and dragging myself to the next activity. I'm grateful that I can live a full life and experience many different things.
5. Prayer -- the comfort I can receive each time I pray.

Thankful Thursday on Sunday

Thursday got away from me before I could post my blessings and now its Sunday -- how did that happen? I still wanted to list my 5 blessings this week.

1. Good Health - I take for granted what a blessing a working body is until something doesn't function just right. It's amazing how something as simple as a small cut on your writing hand can put a cramp in ones style -- let alone something major like back surgery!

2. Modern day conveniences such as running water. Yesterday, the city had to turn our water off for about an hour in the morning. It was amazing how many times in that one hour I needed running water. I know that I would have been a very wimpy and crappy pioneer.

3. Todd. It's such a blessing to have a great best friend. Friday night was our date night. We went to the Home and Garden Show and then to the Borderline Grill for dinner. It was nice to just be together and enjoy talking about many random things.

4. An awesome job! During tax season, I sometimes wonder why I'm an accountant but we are all like family and have a lot of fun and many laughs throughout the day. Tax season would be extremely miserable if I didn't work with such great people. It's nice to be able to have fun during this crazy time of year.

5. A great ward Relief Society. Last Wednesday was our RS birthday party. I love the ladies in our ward and wish that I could associate with them more than I get too.

Thankful Thursday ...

... in pictures.

Sunshine makes me happy, especially when its been 5 months

since we've really been able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine!

I'm grateful for the feelings that I have when I read the scriptures
and try to follow their teachings.

I'm thankful for the love of a wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally.

I love gerber daisies! I love flowers in general but gerber daisies are fun and make me smile.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I LOVE my diet coke. I don't drink more than one a day (at least not usually) but I do drink (and really enjoy) that one a day. I really disliked it when I go to a restaurant and ask for a diet coke and the response is "Is diet pepsi, okay?" No! If I wanted diet pepsi, I'd ask for diet pepsi! If we are going to a restuarant that serves diet pepsi and not diet coke, I now take my own diet coke with me!

Thankful Thursday

I've thought alot about gratitude lately and realized that, sadly, I don't acknowledge my blessings enough. I truly am blessed and need thank my Heavenly Father for those blessing. I decided to start Thankful Thursday's were I can list 5 things each week that I'm grateful for.

I found the following quote on lds.org this morning while thinking about my blessings today:

The Lord has promised, "He who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious" (D&C 78:19). Gratitude is an uplifting, exalting attitude. People are generally happier when they have gratitude in their hearts. We cannot be bitter, resentful, or mean-spirited when we are grateful. We should be thankful for the wonderful blessings that are ours and for the tremendous opportunities we have. We can be thankful to our parents, family, friends, and teachers. We should express appreciation to everyone who has assisted us in any way.
We should thank our
Heavenly Father for His goodness to us by acknowledging His hand in all things, thanking Him for all that He gives us, keeping His commandments, and serving others. We should especially thank Him for His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, for the Savior's great example, for His teachings, for His outreaching hand to lift and help, for His infinite Atonement.

My thankful list today includes:

1. Great friends - I spent some time yesterday with Maureen, who was one of my college roommates 20 plus years ago (WOW -I'm getting old!). When I first met Maureen, she was this tiny, cute, little thing from Twin Falls, Idaho. She was a academic brain, a cheerleader, and just really cute! I really wondered what, if anything, we had in common because from the outside appearances we had nothing in common. Quickly, I found out what a sweetheart she was and we really did have more in common than meets the eye. We've remained good friends and now have boys that same age, involved in many of the same activities, our husbands have some of the same interests and we all LOVE Aggie Basketball. Being with Maureen always lifts my spirits. We have a lot of great laughs together and understand each other. I so appreciate her friendship and the time we get to spend together.

2. The ability to pay our bills. I know that sounds crazy and actually it is a job that I really dislike doing but at least I can pay our bills.

3. The forgiving nature of boys. Yesterday afternoon, things didn't pan out exactly how Kody wanted them too and he was very upset and took most of those frustrations out on me -- although I had nothing to do with the problem. By night, he was back to his loving self and told me he loved me.

4. Animals. I've never considered myself an animal lover but our dogs Trixy and Dexter have really gotten to me lately. I so enjoy that they are always excited to see you. I enjoy watching Trixy play in the backyard. She really can put a smile on my face while I'm cooking dinner.

5. A wonderful place to come home to each afternoon. I enjoy my house and trying to make it a home for my family.
